Do eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?
When applied properly, no!
Eyelash extensions can potentially damage your natural eyelashes if they are not applied or maintained properly. Here are a few ways in which eyelash extensions can cause damage:
Poor Application: If the extensions are applied too heavy or with too much adhesive, they can weigh down your natural lashes and cause them to become weak or fall out prematurely.
Allergic Reactions: Some people may be allergic to the adhesive used to apply eyelash extensions. Allergic reactions can cause itchiness or redness.
Infection Risk: Improperly sanitizing tools or unhygienic application techniques can increase the risk of infection, which can also damage your natural lashes and the surrounding skin.
Improper Removal: Removing eyelash extensions incorrectly can also lead to damage. Pulling them off forcefully or using harsh chemicals can cause your natural lashes to break or become damaged.
To minimize the risk of damage, it’s important to choose a reputable and experienced technician, such as those at Luxe Beauty Lounge, and follow aftercare instructions carefully.

What are eyelash extensions and what are they made from?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic or natural fibers that are individually attached to your natural eyelashes using a special adhesive. They are used to enhance length, thickness, and fullness of your natural lashes. Thus, providing a more dramatic and voluminous look, depending on the look you wish to achieve.
There are different types of eyelash extensions available, including:
Synthetic Extensions: These are made from synthetic materials such as polyester or acrylic. Synthetic lashes are generally a more dramatic and glamorous look.
Natural/Classic Extensions: Also known as mink or silk lashes. These extensions are made from natural fibers to provide a softer, more natural look. They are typically lighter and more flexible than synthetic lashes.
Volume Lashes: These extensions consist of multiple thinner lashes that are grouped together to create a fuller, more voluminous look. Volume lashes are popular for achieving a dramatic and fluffy appearance.

How do I know what service to book as a new client wanting eyelash extensions?
As a new client, you are ultimately looking to book a full set. If you are a returning client, you are booking a “fill”- where we fill in the outgrow lashes of your full set.
When it comes to full sets, here are the options we currently offer:
Classic Set: One individual eyelash extension per one individual natural eyelash. A 1-to-1 ratio. This is typically a very light and natural look, only enhancing the length of your natural eyelash.
Wet Set: A “closed fan” of about 2-4 eyelash extensions per one individual natural eyelash. The “closed fan” is 2-4 extensions fused together to crete one thick extension. This set typically gives a “mascara” look. Which adds both length and a touch of volume.
Hybrid Set: A hybrid set is a mix between a classic set and a volume set. A small “open fan” of about 2-4 lashes per one individual natural lash. Because this is an “open fan”, this gives a much fluffier and voluminous look to your lashes. These sets add length and/or density to your natural eyelashes.
If you do not know which set will work best for you, you may always schedule a consultation to determine which look is best for you and your lifestyle.
